The experience is based on one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinema history
Life-sized dinosaurs will be taking over The Trafford Centre this summer when a new Jurassic World experience comes to town.
The official award-winning Jurassic World: The Exhibition is roaring back to the UK from July 19, and will run outside the venue until November.
Previously a sell-out at ExCel Arena London in 2022, it will showcase some additional fan-favourite dinosaurs from Jurassic World, with visitors able to see the armored adult Ankylosaurus and the ferocious Carnotaurus.
Billed as ‘a family-friendly exhibit of massive proportions’ and based on one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinema history, it will be based in Peel 7 car park, opposite John Lewis, with tickets on sale from today, Thursday, June 13.
Visitors will walk through the iconic Jurassic World gates, explore richly themed environments, encounter a life-sized Brachiosaurus, Velociraptors, including fan-favourite Blue, and the most fearsome dinosaur of all, the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex.
Guests will be able to ‘imagine what it would have been like to roam amongst these breathtaking creatures’, interact with baby dinosaurs, including Bumpy from the popular animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous from Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation, currently streaming on Netflix.
Following an initial launch in Melbourne, Australia, Jurassic World: The Exhibition, one of the fastest selling exhibitions in history since its launch, has become a global success with over eight million visitors. The exhibition has already been in numerous cities around the world such as Sydney, Toronto, Houston, San Diego, Chicago, Paris, Shanghai, Cologne and Berlin.
Simon Layton, centre director at Trafford Centre, said: “We’re passionate about creating extraordinary experiences for all of our visitors, so the arrival of Jurassic World: The Exhibition to the Trafford Centre – its first time in the north – is hugely exciting. This experience promises a fun-filled day, roarsome day out for all the family.”
Ron Tan, executive chairman and group CEO of NEON, said: “Jurassic World: The Exhibition achieved tremendous success, receiving the accolade of being the longest running event at ExCeL London when it premiered in the United Kingdom in 2022.
“We are ecstatic to be back here with another exceptional experience, showcasing new dinosaurs to awe our friends in Manchester and beyond. Together with our partners, we look forward to welcoming huge crowds to come experience this prehistoric world like no other.”
Universal Parks and Resorts’ president of global business development Michael Silver added: “We are thrilled to open Jurassic World: The Exhibition for the second time in the United Kingdom. The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchise have been thrilling audiences for decades and we are delighted to give fans the opportunity to see these magnificent dinosaurs up close.”
Tickets go on sale today, Thursday, June 13, priced from £13 for children aged three to 15. Family and group tickets are also available as well as special pricing for senior citizens and students. All tickets are valid for a specific time slot.
