Cityneon’s Executive Chairman & Group CEO Ron Tan Named Executive of the Year at the Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards 2018

Mainboard-listed Cityneon Holdings Limited (SGX:5hJ) (“Cityneon”, the “Company”, “城贸控股有限公司” or collectively with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) has reached trailblazing success under the leadership of Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ron Tan.

At the 4th Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards (MEA) held at Conrad Centennial on November 22, 2018, Mr. Ron Tan was named Executive of the Year – Media & Entertainment, 2018. Mr. Tan was recognized for his leadership and business initiatives that brought tangible business gains to Cityneon over his years of stewardship.

Previous winners of the Executive of the Year award include Mr Raman Singh of Mundipharma, Mr Chatri Sityodtong of ONE Championship, Dr Andy Adhiwana of Auric Pacific Group Limited and Mr Allen Law of Park Hotel Group.

The award comes after the successful opening weekend of Jurassic World: The Exhibition in Madrid, Spain. The exhibition has been visited by approximately 1.5 million people since its world premiere at the Victoria Museum in Melbourne, Australia in 2016. Its opening at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid last week marked the fifth city in the world, and the second European city where the exhibition was hosted. The exhibition will open in Seoul, Korea in 2019 after Madrid.

Mr. Ron Tan commented: “This award is not a demonstration of personal achievement. I am merely receiving this on behalf of all our loyal and faithful shareholders in Cityneon; and this will not be possible either without the strong support from and partnerships with all the major international studios executives – Disney, Marvel, Hasbro, Universal and Lionsgate – in US and in different parts of the world; and the staunch support of our clients, partners, suppliers and vendors worldwide.”

“And most importantly, this award is a fitting testament of the hard work put in all these years by each and every of the 400 or so employees of Cityneon in Singapore, Middle East, United States and offices in various parts of the world, to continue to transform the company into one that many will admire and all will be proud to be part of,” Mr. Tan added.

This year’s nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Mr David Chew, Executive Director of Risk Advisory at Deloitte Southeast Asia; Mr Lim Wei Wei, Partner and Practice Leader of Governance and Risk at Baker Tilly TFW; Mr Pardeep Singh Khosa, Director of Dispute Resolution at Drew & Napier; Mr Yang Eu Jin, Partner and Co-Head of Capital Markets Practice of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP and Mr Henry Tan, Managing Director at NEXIA TS.
