Cityneon Holdings recognised as one of Singapore’s best-managed companies

Cityneon, a global experience entertainment company, has been honoured in the first-ever Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies Singapore Award, a recognition of private businesses that are building and leading successful and dynamic companies. This award was celebrated at a ceremony held at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel on 1 July 2021.

The prestigious awards programme is held around the world in the Americas, Europe, Australia and China, and this year for the first time, it has been introduced in Singapore. There are four judging criteria for this award: strategy; capabilities and innovation; culture and commitment; and governance and financials.

Prestigious winners
Previous global winners include Haidilao International Holding Ltd from China, Morgan Mckinley from Ireland, Sun-Maid Growers of California from the US and Fisherman’s Market from Canada. The awards are judged by an independent jury, and expert coaches from Deloitte help shortlisted entrants to benchmark their company against some of the world’s top businesses.

After rounds of rigorous assessing, Cityneon together with 4 other companies from diverse industries were awarded with this globally recognised mark of excellence by Deloitte for the first time in Singapore.

Ron Tan, Executive Chairman & Group CEO of Cityneon Holdings says, “We are humbled to receive this inaugural award. This award is only made possible with the sustained guidance of our Board of Directors, the assured trust of our current and new shareholders, the utmost dedication of the management team, members of Cityneon, and the unwavering support from all our global industry partners, bankers, and many others along the way all these years.”

“It is this teamwork and resilience within Cityneon that possibly sets us apart from others to achieve what we initially thought was not possible — especially during the past months handling the COVID crisis, globally. Thank you once again to everyone who has kept the faith and are continuing this journey with Cityneon.”

Building more IP exhibition sets
Cityneon finished a round of private funding in April 2021, having raised S$235 million towards its continued growth and future plans. It is now working to build more of its successful IP exhibition sets under the studio IP partnerships and original artefact IP partnerships by the end of 2022.

The company has secured the IP rights to two major historical artefacts and will present these in new global exhibitions. Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru will first open in Boca Raton, Florida in October 2021, while Ramses The Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs will be coming to Houston, Texas in November 2021.

Cityneon also works with studios partners such as Universal Studios, Disney, Marvel, Lionsgate and Hasbro for the various exhibitions that have travelled to more than 50 cities around the world to date.

The Group aims to engage with audiences in over 70 cities around the world and expects to welcome 10 million unique global visitors per year to visit their experiences worldwide by 2022.

Last year, Cityneon acquired Animax Designs, a world-renowned and reputable animatronics company founded 30 years ago in Nashville, Tennessee to support the Group’s vision of creating unique, immersive and large-scale experiences through their engineering capabilities and cutting-edge animatronics technology.
