SINGAPORE – Fans of the Jurassic World blockbuster films will have the chance to spot iconic moments from the series recreated with cutting-edge animatronics and interactive exhibits at Gardens by the Bay from May 29.

Jurassic World: The Experience, an immersive and interactive exhibition, will be housed in the Cloud Forest, the gardens’ cooled conservatory.

It will feature different dinosaur species in thematic zones, including:

  • An 8.5m-tall Brachiosaurus, located at the entrance of Cloud Forest
  • The terrifying Tyrannosaurus rex
  • Baby dinosaurs in a petting zoo area
  • The tiny and elusive Compsognathus, or “Compys”, hidden within lush garden pathways

Visitors can also try the Evolution Walk, where they can learn about age-old plant species which arose before those that bear flowers. The exhibit will also feature reconstructions of ancient flora gone extinct, to showcase how plants have evolved over time.

The Cloud Forest replicates the cool-moist climate found in tropical montane regions around the world – between 1,000m and 3,500m above sea level. More than 72,000 plants thrive in the Forest, with over 50 species with lineages that can be traced back to the Jurassic period. These include ferns, cycads and conifers.

From 2022 to 2023, it was also home to another exhibition inspired by a major movie franchise – with the Avatar: The Experience installation.

The Jurassic World franchise is one of the most financially successful movie series of all time, garnering at least US$6 billion (S$8.05 billion) worldwide. Its six films are Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park 3 (2001), Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World: Dominion (2022).

The exhibition at Gardens by the Bay is a collaboration between Neon, a global experience entertainment company, and Universal Live Entertainment, a division of Universal Parks & Resorts.

Mr Ron Tan, executive chairman and group chief executive of Neon, said visitors to the exhibition can look forward to a seamless integration of cinematic storytelling with the natural beauty of Cloud Forest that creates a unique and memorable journey for all visitors.

Mr Felix Loh, chief executive of Gardens by the Bay, also chimed in on the educational potential of the Jurassic Park experience: “Here, visitors will learn how prehistoric ecosystems once shaped our planet within the setting of a Cloud Forest, and the fascinating way plants have evolved through millions of years from the Jurassic period.”

According to a Neon spokesperson, ticket prices for Jurassic World: The Experience will be announced in May. For details, go to jurassicworldexperience.com/sg.
